1. Gurdwara Damdama Sahib.
This Gurdwara marks the spot where Guru Gobind Singh ji and the Singhs first alighted upon reaching Chamkaur Sahib. Mahan Kosh mentions that Kalgidhar Patshah had been here once before on their way to Kurukshetra.
This is where Guru Mahraj alongside their two elder Sahibzadays and forty Sikhs, fought the Mughal army from inside the fortress of Chamkaur Sahib. It was here where Guru Sahib's utterance that one Sikh would fight a hundred and twenty five thousand (Sava lakh) was realised. It is the place where the elder Sahibzadays and and 40 Singhs attained Shaheedi. It is also known as 'Tilak asthan' as it is here that Guru Ji accepted the Benti of the Panj Piare and left the 'garhi' - thereby authorising the Khalsa Panth as Guru Panth.
Puratan picture of Gurdwara Garhi Sahib. The current Gurdwara is of large fort. However previously, it was a kachi garhi, a strong house with thick walls and one secure entrance.
3. Gurdwara Katalgarh Sahib
This was where the holy bodies of Sahibzaday and other Shaheeds were cremated. Shastar remains were also found from site excavation of this site. Older form of Gurdwara Katalgarh Sahib can be seen in the puratan picture of this site.
4.Gurdwara Shahid Burj Bhai Jivan Singh.
It is next to Gurdwara Garhi Sahib representing the gate of the fortress used by Guru Ji as the bulwark of defence. The Gurdwara is named after Bhai Jivan Singh who is the same Bhai Jaita that brought the 9th Patshah’s holy sees (head).
View of Gurdwara Garhi Sahib and Gurdwara Shaheed Burj from Gurdwara Katalgarh Sahib. Both of the Gurdwaras are situated at a pretty high place and it makes sense because it was a fort after all.
