Gurdwara Chaubara Sahib
Gurdwara Chaubara Sahib was the family home of Guru Amar Das Ji and a lot of historical events took place here. It is situated very near from Gurdwara Baoli Sahib of Goindwal Sahib. It was here where Guru Ji blessed Bibi Bhani Ji’s request that Gurgadhi will remain in Sodhi Wans. Street where the gurdwara is located. It’s pretty cool how it is situated amongst houses, giving you the feeling that it’s Guru Amar Das Ji’s house:
Guru Amar Das Ji used to hold the Kili Sahib to stand while meditating, as they were of very old age:
Guru Amar Das Ji blessed Guru Ram Das Ji with Gurgadhi at this place in 1574. They also started the tradition of appointing Manji (zones of religious administration with an appointed chief called sangtia) here.
Sacred hair and Chola Sahib of Guru Amar Das Ji Mahraj is also situated here.
There is also a room where Guru Ji helped to cure a young boy from Taiya Taap illness and caught Taiya Taap. You can listen the sakhi here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Elm80omYeSA
Joti Jot asthan of Guru Amar Das Ji and Guru Ram Das Ji. Birth (parkash) place of Shri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Mahraj.
Tham Sahib, where Guru Arjan Dev Ji used to play in their childhood. Also Bibi Bhani ji used to prepare Langgar here.
This was where Guru Arjan Dev Ji came to collect Pothia Sahib from Baba Mohan Das. In this Palki Sahib, Guru Ji carried the Gurbani of the first four Guru Jis to Shri Harmandar Sahib, Amritsar. Note the amount of satkar Mahraj gave to pothia.
Gurdwara Chaubara Sahib is indeed a place holding a lot of historical significance. It is situated just a walking distance from Baoli Sahib Gurdwara Sahib in Goindwal Sahib. Do visit it when you go to Punjab next!
